Matter yoga wear is an Orange County based company committed to making environmentally friendly, sustainable yoga clothing that lasts.

Azita Sheridan, designer and founder of Matter, was inspired to design her own line of yoga wear when the contemporary knit wear company she worked for as a designer decided to start sourcing products from overseas. Committed to the ideas of local manufacturing, using eco-friendly materials and promoting a healthy lifestyle with yoga, she struck out on her own.

Matter products are all 100% locally made – the fabrics are knit, dyed and constructed by small, high quality, local business partners. Even the woven labels on the garments are made locally. Local production not only dramatically reduces fuel usage required for shipping, it also allows Azita to keep a close eye on the quality of the construction of her products as she visits her suppliers on a weekly basis. It also means she can be sure that the people making her products enjoy good working conditions.

All Matter products are made with a combination of 100% certified organic cotton and just a little bit of lycra to make them stretch. The dyes used on the products are low impact, non-toxic, fumeless dyes.
