Our Weekly Words 9.18.19“The hidden harmony is better than the obvious one.” – Heraclitus, 500 B.C.
We are reminded of the powerful Rumi quote we’ve embraced and revisited throughout this semester: “Work in the invisible at least as hard as you do in the visible.” Your practice is your medicine for all three of your bodies: mind, energy and emotions. Coming to your mat realigns you in expansive ways, far beyond your deeper connection to your physical body and newfound muscular strength. Servicing our body in ways that takes us out of our habitual patterns releases fear and anger we may be holding in our shortened Psoas muscles. This week we’re intentionally savoring an extra moment in Up Dog as we allow this region to lengthen and release those base emotions we are holding that do not serve us. Homework: To support deeper study as we move through the seven chakras, look to Carolyn Myss’ incredible book, “Anatomy of the Spirit: The Seven Stages of Power and Healing.” This is one of those beloved texts we have studied before, and it is highly recommended for your personal library as one to revisit when wanting to clear out the cobwebs in areas that are energetically stuck. |
