Let Val lead you on a journey of strength with intention. The way we train with kettlebells will allow you to train efficiently, getting the most work done in the shortest amount of time without damaging your muscles and hurting your practice.
February’s Intentional Strength for Moon Days classes will be held at Pacific Ashtanga Yoga Shala! Saturday, February 8th at 9:30am and Sunday, February 23rd at 9am. And because we’ll be at the Shala, we’ll focus on what people consider the “Yoga of Kettlebells”, the Turkish Getup. The Getup is a movement that allows you to get up off the floor holding a weight. While simple in explanation, this fluid movement is great for shoulders, hips, abs, and backs - it works on mobility, stability, and strength at many different angles. Come learn with Val on your Ashtanga rest day. We’ll decide which kettlebells you’ll need for your home practice, and we’ll send you on your way with the tools you need to be stronger for your practice and for life!

In these 2-hour workshops, you will be practicing the full Second Series in a way that serves you. We will be work-shopping Intermediate Series asanas and researching modification options. As we lean into 2020, Diana is encouraging all students to incorporate Second Series asanas into their Mysore practice. These beneficial asanas help us open the front of the body and clear energy.
